LCISD Trustee Kevin Bryan was celebrated at his final Board Meeting last night!
As shared by Superintendent Bryant, "Kevin has served as an advocate, encourager, and biggest fan of thousands of Lubbock-Cooper students and staff members in his eight years on the Board of Trustees. In addition to his service to LCISD, his "official" roles have included commitments to the Pirate Pride Band Boosters, the Caprock AMBUCS MOB basketball league, and the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce Board; however, if you know Kevin, you know his contributions extend much, much farther. He has dedicated countless hours to Lubbock-Cooper events, supporting students in academic, athletic, and fine arts pursuits. I would also be remiss if I failed to mention Kevin's featured role in LCHS Theatre's production of 'Legally Blonde.' His enthusiasm and compassionate spirit are felt deeply by our community, and have been specifically commemorated for every single student of the month recognized at an LCISD Board meeting, as Kevin has taken the time to handwrite a personalized note of congratulations to each one of them. It's fair to say that Kevin has supported all LCISD students with the same commitment and pride he holds for his own children.
The best interests of LCISD students have remained at the forefront of any decision or initiative Kevin has taken part in. His leadership style has been one of mindfulness, engagement, fairness, and investment. His commitment to the success of this district and its stakeholders is unwavering - he is exactly what a community hopes for in a Trustee."
We thank Mr. Bryan for his years of service to the LCP family!

UPDATE: TxDOT has already closed Loop 493 to thru traffic (instead of at 5:00 p.m. today, as originally planned). Please be prepared for Loop 493 between the north LCHS parking lot entry and Woodrow Road to be shut down during today's dismissal. Read more below:
Barricades will be set up just south of the LCHS north parking lot entrance, meaning that the LCHS north parking lot will still be accessible from Highway 87, but drivers exiting the north parking lot cannot go southbound on Loop 493 (instead, they will be forced to turn north and return to Highway 87).
Barricades will also be set up on Loop 493 where it intersects Woodrow Road (at the four-way traffic signal). Drivers on Woodrow Road wishing to turn north onto Loop 493 will be unable to do so.
Please plan accordingly as you travel to and from Woodrow-area campuses.
We do not know the timeline for this project, but will notify drivers once Loop 493 is reopened to thru traffic. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
