One of the three memorial scholarships facilitated by the Lubbock-Cooper Education Foundation is the Joe Dale Gillispie Memorial Scholarship, founded this year.
Joe Dale Gillispie is best remembered for his servant’s heart and love for his community, family, and friends. He was extremely passionate about his job at Lubbock-Cooper Independent School District working as the Grounds Supervisor for 16 years. He established his landscaping company, All Seasons Property Care, Inc., in 1990, and for 32 years his family has continued serving the Lubbock community’s landscape needs. He served as Chaplain, Board member, and firefighter for the Woodrow Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years.
His incredible work ethic and community service will always be remembered. The Gillispie family wishes to honor him through the Joe Dale Gillispie Memorial Scholarship, available to Lubbock-Cooper ISD seniors who will be attending a college, university, or technical/trade school who wish to pursue a career as a first responder, in agriculture, and/or in landscape design/architecture. These are three areas that Joe was very passionate about and excelled in his service. Joe embodied the qualities of hard work, perseverance, and a servant’s heart in all he did. His family would like to honor a Pirate who embodies these same qualities and takes pride in their schoolwork and pride in their Pirate community. This scholarship is meant to assist them in furthering their education to positively impact their own lives and the lives of those around them.
Scholarships will be awarded based on academic merit, community service, citizenship, sponsor recommendation, and personal essay.

Monday, January 17 is a Lubbock-Cooper staff and student holiday. All campuses will be closed.

The Lubbock-Cooper Education Foundation is honored to facilitate a number of memorial scholarships representing cherished members of the Pirate community, including Craig Staudt.
Craig Staudt had a servant’s heart and love for his family and friends. He was extremely passionate about his job at Lubbock-Cooper High School working as the Campus Technologist for 11 years. His love and adoration that he had for his wife, Debbie, their two daughters, and his four beautiful grandchildren (all Lubbock-Cooper Pirates) was well-known by all.
His never ending support for everything "LCP" will always be remembered. We wish to honor him through the Craig Staudt Memorial Scholarship for a graduating senior pursuing a career in either the education or technology fields (two areas that Craig was very proud of and passionate about). Craig embodied the qualities of hard work, perseverance, and service in all he did. On behalf of the family of Craig Staudt, we would like to honor a Pirate who embodies these same qualities and takes pride in their school work and pride in their Pirate family, and assist them in furthering their education to continue to impact their lives for the better and the lives of those around them.
