Lubbock-Cooper ISD - Grant Department Staff

February 15th, which is scheduled as a snow day on the 2009-2010 calendar, will be the day we use to make-up our school closing on January 29th. Students will be attending school February 15th.

Gary Lee Frye, Ed.D., has funded over $26,000,000 for LCISD and other districts. He is also the Executive Director of the Llano Estacado Rural Communities Foundation which is the local fundraising arm of six independent school districts and one charter school system. His doctorate in Educational Administration is from TexasTech University. He has published numerous articles on the subject of grant writing and development issues for public schools in the Journal of the American Association of Grant Professionals, Journal of Research Administration, The School Administrator, and The American School Board Journal. Dr. Frye holds fourteen teaching and five professional certifications from the Texas Education Agency and has reviewed over 100 federal and state grants as well as grant reviews for foundations.

His oldest son, Josh, is a special education aide at Lubbock-Cooper High School while his youngest son, Alex, is a senior in restaurant, hotel, and institutional management at Texas Tech University. His wife, Ellen, is the educational diagnostician at Iles Elementary while also serving as an adjunct professor at Wayland Baptist University and Lubbock Christian University.

Mark works with Dr. Frye in coordinating the fiscal aspects of each current grant's operation. He is a recent graduate of ACU with BS degree in accounting.

Shirley works with at-risk students and assists them with any special needs within their living environment. She makes home visits to these students and stays in contact with them, while serving as their liaison for any questions or concerns.
