"What I admire most about Lubbock-Cooper is that despite all our successes, we keep finding a way to move up the next step of the pyramid."

Mr. Vines has 28 years of experience in education, 13 of them spent right here at Lubbock-Cooper.  He was the Assistant High School Principal from 1993 - 1995, the Assistant Superintendent from 1990 - 2004, and is currently serving as the Deputy Superintendent.

His current duties include long-range facility planning, personnel recruitment, and supervising technology, grants, textbooks, attendance, and AEP.  Mr. Vines received his B.A. in Political Science from Central College (1976), his M.E. in Psychotherapy from Texas Tech (1992), and his M.E. in Administration, also from Texas Tech (1994).

He and his wife of 31 years, Becky, (also a Lubbock-Cooper teacher) have three children:  Jeremey, a 1999 Lubbock-Cooper graduate; and Kayla and Kelsey, seniors at Lubbock-Cooper High School.
